School Information


Halcyon Halls is located on the Isle of Bacalao, also known as the Isle of Demons. Conscious of its history, culture and the charitable intentions of its Founder, Halcyon Halls responds to the demands of change by preparing our youth for a life of leadership, service and personal fulfillment. Academic achievement is foremost amongst Halcyon's goals which also promote independence of thought, respect for others, creativity and responsibility within a broad range of activities. Above all, Halcyon inspires it's students to develop their talents and reach for excellence in everything they do. We also aim to develop in our pupils an appreciation of the interdependence of different parts of the world. Our aims are: +To offer high quality teaching which leads our students to develop an interest in academic work and very good exam results. To teach them about other supernatural kind and how to interact with them. +To ensure an involvement by all pupils in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, delivered to a higher level than that achieved at most other schools and leading to personal fulfillment and the development of lifelong interests. +To promote life skills including the ability to write and speak well, to foster the qualities necessary for people of all races to flourish within a community, and to encourage our pupils to develop qualities of leadership. +To have a strong relationship with the local community.

Halcyon Halls is a large school. One that borders upon the term enormous. There are various floors, levels, underground areas and towers. It is built to house many and can fit even more if more students and staff were made to bunk in the same rooms. By appearance alone one would not realize just how old the structure is. But by rock walls and echoing hallways, the notes to the age of it can become a bit clearer. Situated near to the coast of the island many rooms hold a near breathtaking view. Classrooms and dorms are all within Halcyon Halls. Along with other amenities; gym, pool, weights room, wireless internet, computer labs, cafeteria and more. Whatever one could find on a college campus or even a hotel one can find in Halcyon Halls. Halcyon is not known to the public. The school itself is run by supernaturals and known only by supernaturals and those that have been to the school itself. Hidden away word of it does not spread through the human cities as supernaturals work hard to keep its location hidden away and safe. Scouts are sent out often to find supernaturals and those that have been to Halcyon, and left, will speak of it to others to have it help other supernaturals as the school helped them.

Teachers and staff at Halcyon Halls care greatly for the school and the well being of all within the school. All are trained to handle any conflicts or clashes that could occur between students. Also they have much experience when it comes to their field of teacher or place within the school. Note: Scouts are those that go outside of the school, searching other cities, for supernatural children or recently turned that could benefit from time in Halcyon Halls and aid that it can provide.

Houses are broken down into four categories or placements for students. Earth, air, fire and water. Below is a breakdown of what traits each house consists of. Students have say in where they are placed, as they know themselves better then teachers or staff ever could. However if it is felt that the student has chosen a house not fully fitting to them it will be requested that they consider another house. Each house consists of two floors within the school, male and female. Each floor is broken down into rooms where two to four students are assigned. Teachers and staff of Halcyon have rooms, or apartments, in the staff housing Head of Halcyon. Note:See to this post to see who currently reside within each house. Around Halcyon there are various other buildings and locations. Many farms, vineyards, and other such good and item producing sorts are scattered throughout the island. The city on the island should be thought of like a small vacation village. There are shops, a hotel, good stores, even a small movie theater. But in no way is any of it like a big city. All that is on the island is owned by the school and run almost entirely by supernaturals or those with supernatural ties in some form. However not all places on the island are known to students and/or staff. Some are kept secrete and unknown, that doesn’t mean they are hidden or warded. Simply generally unknown. Note:Locations on the island are not limited to those listed below.
Club Bacalao Type: Club Age limit: 16 and over Run by: NPC's Pop and dance music is to the top floor. Punk and Rock to the bottom. 16 and older are allowed to all floors, drinking requires ID or proof from a Staff member of their age (18). Local bands often play. The feel and look is like many other clubs, the new management to the club wants it to be more accessible for all students and patrons of the island. Goods are transported in monthly through secure supernatural means. The place is large and filled to the brim with stores.	Imaginarium Type: Game Entertainment Age limit: n/a Run by: n/a Game entertainment. Any sort of game you could imagine is in this place. Laser tag, miniature golf, and a large resturaunt. The place is built for fun.
